Real Estate Photography with Boxwood Photos- What Do You Need to Ask Us to Shoot?

In the world of real estate, high quality real estate photography is the key to capturing potential buyers' attention. At Boxwood Photos, we're committed to providing you with high-quality images that highlight the best features of your listings. While we strive to capture every aspect of a home, there are a few areas we typically exclude from our photography, unless specifically requested by the listing agent. In this article, we'll explain why we take this approach and when it's beneficial to request shots of these areas.

Our Comprehensive Photography Approach

Our team of professional photographers is dedicated to showcasing the beauty and potential of each property we photograph. We believe that well-rounded real estate photography should represent the home's interior and exterior, which can make all the difference in a buyer's decision-making process.

Areas We Typically Exclude in Real Estate Photography, and Why:

  1. Pantries: Pantries, though functional, often have varying levels of organization and storage. Leaving them out of our standard shots allows potential buyers to envision how they would customize the space to fit their needs and preferences.
  2. Closets: Closets come in various sizes and arrangements, which may not align with every buyer's requirements. By focusing on other areas of the home, we create a clean and appealing visual experience that allows buyers to imagine how they would organize their belongings.
  3. Garage Interiors: Garages serve different purposes for different individuals, from storage to workshops. Omitting garage interiors from our standard photography ensures that the main living spaces take center stage. However, if the garage is a significant selling point, we encourage agents to request shots to highlight its potential.
  4. Unfinished Basements: Unfinished basements hold untapped potential, but the transformation process can be subjective. Our standard approach concentrates on fully developed areas to present a polished view of the home. If the unfinished basement significantly contributes to the home's value, we recommend requesting shots to showcase the possibilities.
  5. Small or Untidy Laundry Rooms: Laundry rooms, especially when small or untidy, may not create the desired visual impact. Our goal is to present the property in the best light possible. However, if the laundry room's layout and features are essential selling points, we're happy to capture them upon request.

When to Request Shots of These Areas:

  1. Pantries: If the pantry features custom shelving, ample storage, or unique organizational solutions, capturing these details can enhance the overall appeal of the kitchen and storage spaces.
  2. Closets: When the closet layout, design, or organization adds significant value to the property, requesting shots of walk-in closets or built-in storage solutions can be beneficial.
  3. Garage Interiors: Garages with special features such as built-in storage, workshop spaces, or unique flooring can be showcased through photography, particularly if they're a selling point.
  4. Unfinished Basements: If the unfinished basement has potential for conversion into a valuable living space, including shots can help buyers envision the possibilities.
  5. Small or Untidy Laundry Rooms: Request shots of laundry rooms with desirable features like modern appliances, spacious countertops, or well-thought-out storage to showcase their functionality.
